Stamford, CT – A 19-year-old gang member, Kelvin Mitchell, wanted in connection with a murder in Yonkers, New York, has been arrested in Stamford, Connecticut.
Stamford Police’s Narcotics and Organized Crime detectives were notified by Yonkers police about the homicide, which took place on August 26, 2024. Mitchell was apprehended Thursday while staying with his aunt in Stamford.
Mitchell faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a firearm. He is also charged with being a fugitive from justice. Authorities have set his bond at $5 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 19, 2025.
In addition to the Yonkers murder, Mitchell is believed to be connected to a 2023 homicide, police revealed.
The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, with law enforcement continuing to explore Mitchell’s involvement in multiple criminal activities.
