Baton Rouge police are looking into two shootings that happened just 20 minutes apart on Sunday night. Right now, it’s unclear if the two incidents are connected.

The first shooting took place on Jackson Avenue, near the 3100 block, between North 39th Street and North Acadian Thruway West. Emergency responders from East Baton Rouge EMS arrived at the scene around 7:45 p.m., but sadly, one person did not survive.

Just half a mile away, another shooting happened near North 39th Street and Washington Avenue. In this case, one person was hurt and rushed to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, they are in stable condition.

As of now, Baton Rouge police haven’t said whether these two shootings are linked. Investigators are still working to piece everything together.
