Wisconsin Mom Will Face 25 Years Imprisonment
A Wisconsin mother identified as Henrietta Rogers, 48 years old, was found guilty in May of first-degree reckless homicide. On Friday, she was sentenced to face 25 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision for strangling to death her 10-year-old daughter.
In a published article in FOX News, the prosecutors said that strangling to death someone is a violent intimate offense and needs a heavier sentence of 30 years in prison. However, it was found that the Wisconsin mom was dealing with a mental issue when the incident happened.
The Wisconsin mom will face 25 years in prison, instead of 30 years, and 15 years of extended supervision. Judge Mark Sanders also added that she must undergo a mental health assessment during probation and seek employment.
The Death of 10-Year-Old Daughter
According to a published article in MEAWW, the Wisconsin mom and her 10-year-old daughter had a verbal altercation after the child refused to have her hair braided. Her older brother and sister called 911 to ask for help and used a screwdriver to open her bedroom.
However, they found the 10-year-old girl dead while lying on the floor. Police authorities also said that the girl appeared to have been dead for a number of hours when they arrived at the crime scene.
