Former Democrat Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema slammed the Biden administration for providing $104 million to address the migrant crisis in New York City.
NYC Received $104 Million
The Democratic leaders and Biden administration provided an amount of $104 million to address the migrant crisis in New York City. This is part of the $800 million NEW Shelter Services Program grant that was revealed by the current administration in June.
In a published article in The Blaze, the amount that New York City received was only revealed when House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer issued a press release.
Arizona Sen. Sinema Slammed Biden Administration
According to an article published in POLITICO, former Democratic Arizona Sen. Sinema said, “I don’t know if you noticed, but the announcement about that $104 million came out first, in a joint press release from Schumer and Jeffries — not from the White House or from [the Federal Emergency Management Agency].”
Sen. Sinema reacted after Arizona, a border state, only received an amount of $23 million through that state’s Shelter and Services Program. The former Democratic Arizona Senator told the Department of Homeland Security and the Biden administration that the decision was “outrageous” and “deeply, deeply wrong.”
