In New Bern, North Carolina, police charged three men and a juvenile on Saturday in connection with drug and firearms-related offenses after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen. The incident occurred at 2:20 PM near the Kensington Park Apartments on Alexandria Circle.

An anonymous caller reported seeing four individuals standing near a silver car, smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, New Bern Police officers found three men and a juvenile at the scene. When approached, one of the men fled but was apprehended after a brief pursuit. During the arrest, officers discovered a concealed firearm and cocaine in his possession.

The remaining individuals stayed at the scene, and officers detected the smell of marijuana emanating from the car. Upon searching the vehicle, they found an AR-15 on the passenger-side floorboard and uncovered five additional firearms, one of which had been reported stolen from Trent Woods.

The suspects were identified and charged as follows:

  • Reginald Bryant, 21, of New Bern, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and resisting, delaying, and obstructing an officer. He was placed in Craven County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
  • Rasool Andrews, 19, of New Bern, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and resisting, delaying, and obstructing an officer. Andrews was already out on a prior firearm violation and is now being held in Craven County Jail without bond.
  • Jaqavious Campbell, 22, of New Bern, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, simple possession of marijuana, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was placed in Craven County Jail under a $3,000 secured bond.
  • The juvenile, whose identity was not released, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possessing a stolen firearm. He was transported to the Pitt Juvenile Detention Center.

The New Bern Police Department continues to investigate the case and thanks the community for their assistance in reporting suspicious activity.
