In Buckner, Illinois, four individuals were arrested on theft-related charges following an investigation into a burglary at Backroads Bar in Franklin County. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 28, prompting a response from deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Kyle Bacon, deputies arrived at the scene and discovered that forced entry had been made into the bar. The ATM inside the establishment had been damaged, and the cash box was reported missing. Following the initial discovery, law enforcement quickly began reviewing security footage, which led to the identification of a suspect.
Deputies and detectives then made contact with several individuals at a residence in Buckner. Based on the information gathered, a search warrant was obtained, leading to the recovery of items linked to the burglary, as well as stolen property from other thefts in the area.
As a result of the investigation, the following arrests were made:
- 44-year-old Bryan F. Parks of Buckner was arrested on charges of one count of burglary and two counts of theft over $500.
- 47-year-old Michael A. Parks of Buckner was arrested on one count of theft over $500.
- 47-year-old Linda N. Fulford of Buckner was arrested on one count of theft over $500.
- 21-year-old Mason L. Parks of Buckner was arrested on one count of theft over $500.
- 25-year-old Cassandra E. Beatty of Valier was arrested on a Washington County failure-to-appear warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
The investigation into the burglary remains ongoing as authorities continue to assess stolen property recovered during the search. These arrests highlight the Sheriff’s Department’s swift action in addressing the crime and ensuring those involved are held accountable.
