Las Vegas, NV – In a shocking turn of events, Metro police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the deadly shooting of a woman during a gun sale. Authorities say Alexandria Burks, 20, was taken into custody on Thursday and faces multiple charges, including open murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
The victim, Nadia Dickerson, was fatally shot on December 8, while her husband, Jermonte Dickerson, was wounded but survived. Police allege that Burks and her boyfriend, Donta Allen, 18, planned to rob the couple before the fatal encounter.
A Deadly Set-Up
According to investigators, Jermonte Dickerson had been communicating with a seller on Instagram about purchasing a firearm. Just minutes before the deadly shooting, he placed an audio call through the platform—his last recorded interaction before 911 calls flooded in.
Authorities tracked the Instagram account to Burks, uncovering messages between her and Allen discussing plans to rob the couple. The pair allegedly executed their scheme near Pecos Road and Cheyenne Avenue, where the violent attack unfolded.
Shocking Revelations
Police say Burks and Allen not only carried out the crime but also recorded a video flaunting the stolen money. Investigators believe this was a premeditated act, with both suspects targeting the victims under the guise of a gun sale.
Allen was arrested earlier this week, and at the time, police had already issued a warrant for Burks’ arrest. With both suspects now in custody, authorities continue their investigation into the tragic crime.
Legal Proceedings
Burks and Allen remain in custody without bail as they await trial. Their charges include murder, attempted murder, and robbery. The case highlights the dangers of private transactions with unknown individuals, especially involving firearms.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a grim reminder of the risks associated with online sales and underscores the importance of safety precautions when meeting strangers for financial transactions.
