Woman Arrested After Throwing ‘First Date’ Brick Through Ex-Husband’s Window

In a bizarre turn of events, a Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly hurling a commemorative brick through the window of her ex-husband’s home.

Sabrina Coyne, 34, was caught on doorbell camera footage throwing the object at the Bonita Springs residence on January 24. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) shared the video on Facebook, humorously overlaying it with the 2000 hit song It Wasn’t Me by Rik Rok and Shaggy.

“A 34-year-old woman is behind bars for throwing a ‘first date’ brick through a Bonita Springs residence window,” authorities captioned the post.

According to the LCSO, the incident unfolded when the homeowner was startled by a loud crash, followed by persistent banging on the front door. Upon arrival, deputies found Coyne outside the property, where she reportedly insisted she was just trying to contact her ex-husband.

Bodycam footage shows officers questioning Coyne about the disturbance. When asked if she was responsible for the damage, she initially denied it. However, the video then cuts to a clear clip of her launching the brick through the window. Despite the damning evidence, Coyne repeatedly told police, “I did not break the window.”

The commemorative brick, which had the date June 14, 2020, engraved on it, appeared to symbolize the couple’s first date. While police did not confirm the homeowner’s identity, the sentimental object turned into a weapon of frustration.

Coyne was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and throwing a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling. She was later released on January 26 after posting bond—$5,000 for the weapon offense and $2,500 for criminal mischief.

Authorities confirmed that Coyne is expected to appear in court on February 24. No further updates have been provided by the LCSO.
