Heartbreaking: Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting at Car in Corona

In a shocking incident last week, a man was arrested for allegedly shooting at a car in Corona, California. The incident occurred on Promenade Avenue on Tuesday and was brought to light when the victim reported the attack to authorities.

According to the Corona Police Department (CPD), the victim’s ordeal began when their car was side-swiped by a white Nissan Pathfinder. After the collision, the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Ruben Durame, reportedly confronted the victim at gunpoint. The victim managed to escape and immediately sought help from nearby police officers. Upon inspection of the victim’s car, officers discovered a single gunshot had pierced the rear passenger window.

Following the report, CPD launched an investigation and tracked Durame to a residence on the 3900 block of Bennett Avenue. With a search warrant in hand, officers searched the suspect’s vehicle and found a 9mm handgun. The weapon was taken into evidence, and Durame was taken into custody without any further incident.

Durame was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on Wednesday. However, records indicate he was released on Saturday after posting $75,000 bail.

The incident has raised concerns about road rage and public safety. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation. Individuals with knowledge of the case are encouraged to contact the Corona Police Department at (951) 739-4869.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance and prompt reporting in emergencies. Fortunately, the victim’s quick actions enabled the authorities to intervene swiftly and bring the suspect to justice. As investigations continue, the police are committed to ensuring safety and accountability in the community.

Residents are reminded to stay calm and contact law enforcement if faced with similar situations, prioritizing personal safety above all.
