Prosecutors in Fremont have announced charges against a 21-year-old man, George Green, who allegedly carjacked a woman and then used her vehicle to run her over. According to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, Green is facing multiple charges, including carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, unlawful driving or taking a vehicle, and receiving stolen property. If convicted, he could face up to 22 years and eight months in state prison.

The incident reportedly occurred on November 8, 2024, when Green is said to have used “force and fear” to take the woman’s vehicle. During the carjacking, prosecutors allege that Green ran the woman over, causing injuries. At the time of the alleged crime, Green was on probation, mandatory supervision, post-release community supervision, or parole.

Green was arraigned at the East Hall County of Justice in Dublin on Friday, January 17, 2025. The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting concerns about vehicle-related crimes in the area. Law enforcement continues to investigate the incident as the trial process moves forward.
