Mother Arrested for Shocking Harassment of Essex Teacher

A Westbrook woman, Alicia Davis, 35, has been arrested for shocking harassment and stalking involving a teacher in the Essex school district. The incident, which came to light after repeated threatening emails, prompted a swift response from law enforcement.

According to authorities, Davis, a parent with two children in the district, targeted the teacher through multiple email communications that created emotional distress. The messages included threats and unwelcome messages, which led to the school’s swift action and law enforcement involvement. After an investigation, Davis turned herself in on Thursday, following the issuance of an arrest warrant.

She faces charges of second-degree stalking, which involves causing emotional harm through repeated and threatening actions, as well as second-degree harassment. Davis was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on February 7, 2025.

This incident highlights the growing concern around online harassment and the impact it has on educators, especially in school settings. The school district has increased its measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all its staff members.
