Multi-County High-Speed Chase Leads to Arrest of Five Suspects

Five individuals were arrested following a high-speed chase through multiple counties in Eastern North Carolina on Monday. According to the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began with a report of a stolen utility trailer in Hertford County. Law enforcement was alerted that the suspects were headed toward the Lewiston/Woodville area.

Authorities from both the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the situation, attempting to stop the suspects’ vehicle on Highway 11. The suspects, however, sped away, triggering a pursuit that spanned through several counties.

The chase traveled through Martin County before finally coming to an end in Edgecombe County. At that point, four individuals were arrested. After the pursuit concluded, a fifth person was taken into custody, although their arrest details have not been fully disclosed.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has not provided additional information about the events leading up to or following the chase. Further details about the identities of those arrested and the specific charges they face have not been released at this time.

The stolen utility trailer at the center of the chase was reported to be headed toward the Lewiston/Woodville area, but authorities have not revealed whether it was recovered during the pursuit. Investigators are continuing to work on gathering more information about the case.

This high-speed chase highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in the region to respond to criminal activities and apprehend suspects involved in criminal behavior. Local authorities are expected to release more details in the coming days as the investigation progresses.
