Man Claims ‘God’s Law’ After Brutally Killing Sister, Fires Lawyers

[ad_1]

A tragic family incident in South Carolina took a bizarre turn when Anthony Louis Lopez, accused of murdering his sister, made strange statements to the media about “following God’s law.”

Lopez, 39, is accused of killing his sister, Lisa Rosenzweig, 53, in November 2024. On November 9, police conducted a welfare check at Lisa’s home on Cauthen Street in Rock Hill, South Carolina. With the help of a contractor, officers entered the house and found Lisa’s body. Police believe she was fatally struck in the head with an unidentified object.

Weeks later, on December 6, authorities named Lopez as a suspect. He was arrested in North Carolina on a fugitive warrant and extradited to South Carolina to face a murder charge.

Lopez made his first court appearance recently, where he proclaimed his innocence. Shockingly, he chose to represent himself, waiving his right to an attorney, despite facing the possibility of the death penalty. After leaving the courtroom, Lopez addressed the media, stating, “Follow God’s law and man’s law,” while looking directly at the cameras.

Neighbors of Lisa Rosenzweig expressed shock and sadness over her death. Betty Taylor, a neighbor, described the tragedy as undeserved, saying, “She didn’t deserve that. She didn’t.”

Lopez was denied bail and remains in custody at the York County Detention Center.
