Violence Escalates: 19-Year-Old Fatally Shot in West Garfield Park


A young man tragically lost his life in a shooting on Thursday night in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The victim, a 19-year-old, was found around 7:50 p.m. in an alley located in the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street. According to the Chicago police, he was unresponsive and had multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene.

Emergency responders quickly transported him to Stroger Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to gather more details about what happened.

This tragic incident has left the community shaken, as yet another life has been lost to gun violence. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
