The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has announced the arrest of two teenagers in connection with a murder and robbery that took place in Plymouth, North Carolina, in 2023. Authorities say the incident occurred on November 1, 2023, when the Plymouth Police Department requested SBI assistance in investigating a homicide at 207 Brinkley Avenue.
According to the SBI, the victim, Curtis Hamilton of Plymouth, was killed during what appeared to be a robbery. Investigators also determined that one of the individuals involved in the robbery was killed during the incident. Further investigation led to the identification of two additional suspects.
On Monday, January 29, 2024, 19-year-old Jonathan Machie of Wanchese was arrested after a grand jury issued a True Bill of Indictment for his alleged involvement in Hamilton’s murder and the associated robbery. Two days later, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, 18-year-old Paul Duson III was also arrested following a grand jury indictment on the same charges.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Washington County Jail as the case continues. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding their specific roles in the crime or the identity of the other deceased suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
