LAS VEGAS — In a brazen act of theft, a Las Vegas man has been charged with stealing more than 40 firearms from a pickup truck parked in the Westgate Hotel parking garage. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Francisco Iniguez, now faces over 90 charges, including multiple counts of grand larceny and possession of stolen firearms.
The theft was reported on January 25 when the truck’s owner discovered a broken window and missing firearms. According to police, the victim, an employee of a Wyoming-based gun auction company, had transported approximately 80 firearms from California to Las Vegas for the annual SHOT Show, a major firearms industry event held from January 21-24.
Surveillance footage from the garage captured Iniguez checking vehicle door handles before approaching the victim’s truck. He was later seen retrieving two black bags and transferring them to a rented vehicle. Police said a maintenance worker appeared to startle Iniguez, prompting him to flee the scene.
Investigators identified Iniguez through social media and a past booking photo from the Clark County Detention Center. Detectives later spotted him and a woman loading luggage into a stolen vehicle. After conducting a traffic stop in a restaurant parking lot, police arrested Iniguez.
During questioning, Iniguez admitted to storing the stolen firearms at his home, directing officers to his upstairs rooms. A search uncovered 43 guns—35 of which belonged to the victim. Additionally, Iniguez confessed to stealing a vehicle from a Strip casino and possessing fentanyl, which he claimed to use habitually while funding his addiction through theft.
Iniguez has been charged with:
- 47 counts of grand larceny of a firearm
- 47 counts of a prohibited person in possession of a firearm
- 1 count of burglary of a motor vehicle
He remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center with bail set at $708,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 3.
