In a heartbreaking incident, a 53-year-old man tragically passed away two days after being struck by a car in the south Las Vegas valley. The accident occurred on January 28, 2025, near West Sunset Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2015 Nissan Altima was turning left on a green light when the pedestrian, crossing Sunset Road, failed to follow the pedestrian traffic control signal. Emergency responders rushed the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on January 30.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, officials said. This tragedy marks the 20th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025.
