28-Year-Old Man Arrested After SWAT Standoff in West Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas – A dramatic SWAT standoff ended Wednesday night with the arrest of a 28-year-old man facing multiple aggravated assault charges.

Lubbock police responded to reports of a civil disturbance in the 8600 block of 10th Place just before 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers encountered Dexter Dorsey, who fled the scene and barricaded himself inside a home.

Given the severity of the situation, authorities initiated a Major Crimes callout, citing multiple aggravated assault incidents involving Dorsey and his neighbors. As police worked to obtain a warrant, a SWAT team was deployed to ensure a safe resolution.

After an intense standoff, Dorsey ultimately surrendered without further incident. He was taken into custody and is set to be booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on three counts of aggravated assault.

LPD officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as they gather more details surrounding the alleged assaults.

This remains a developing story—stay tuned for further updates.
