RICHMOND, Va. – A deadly stabbing inside a beloved restaurant in Scott’s Addition has left the community in shock. Richmond Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death inside Lemon Cuisine of India late Thursday night.
Authorities responded to a call at 11:58 p.m. regarding a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in the restaurant’s kitchen, fatally wounded by a knife. Officials have not yet revealed whether the victim was an employee or provided details on what led to the violent attack.
Community Reacts to the Tragedy
Residents in the area are shaken by the incident. One neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed concern about the rising crime rate.
“It definitely shakes you up, especially knowing it happened just across the street,” the resident said.
The restaurant, a popular dining spot, was closed at the time of the incident, according to its online schedule.
Rising Crime Concerns in Scott’s Addition
Miranda Kelleher, who has worked at a nearby restaurant since she was 15, noted an increase in crime in the neighborhood.
“We’ve seen break-ins, tagging, and now stabbings right next door,” she said. “It’s something that has really picked up over the past six months.”
Despite the tragedy, Kelleher reassured the community that the area remains safe.
“Don’t hesitate to visit. Come in, enjoy your food—everything is just fine,” she added.
