In a shocking and tragic development, authorities in Richland County, South Carolina have arrested five teenagers in connection with a brutal murder that took place on January 28.
According to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, deputies responded to a shooting incident around 9:30 PM on Miles Bowman Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a 23-year-old man fatally shot in the front passenger seat of a vehicle, while a woman outside the car had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body.
Investigators determined that four shooters fired approximately 70 rounds into the vehicle, unleashing a violent and deadly ambush.
The arrests began the following day when the RCSD Fugitive Task Force apprehended Peyton Kirby and a 15-year-old suspect at his home. Both were charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
On January 31, authorities arrested Jackson Lane, 17, in northeast Richland County, slapping him with the same charges.
The arrests continued on February 17, when a 16-year-old suspect, identified as the fourth shooter, was taken into custody and charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
A fifth suspect, another 16-year-old, was also arrested and charged with Obstruction in connection to the murder.
