Police authorities charged and arrested a Wisconsin woman after they found five malnourished children in the basement.
5 Malnourished Children Found in the Basement
Police authorities confirmed that they found five malnourished children in the basement after they received a report from a property manager. She said that she visited her property to fix smoke detectors when she noticed that the lights in the basement were shut off and windows were closed.
In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the home was rented by Dashja Turner, 34 years old, and she lived there with her five children. When the property manager went to the home, she found these five malnourished children in the basement.
Property Manager Reported the Scene to the Authorities
According to a published article in PEOPLE, the property manager immediately called the Racine County Department of Human Services who contacted the Racine Police Department. When they arrived at the home, they found five malnourished children aged 1 to 14 years old.
The criminal complaint stated, “There was one twin size air mattress in the first room of the basement. On the air mattress, there were four frail, unkempt children laying on it. The mattress had a single sheet covering it. No pillows or blankets for the children were located.”
Wisconsin Woman Was Charged and Arrested
The Wisconsin woman was charged and arrested after the discovery of five malnourished children in the basement. She was charged with five counts of neglecting a child and her bond is set at $1 million cash.
